Beware of fake advisers and spams offering booking. If you don't know them, don't pay them. Contact only if they have UK office address, landline and OISC registration number . Otherwise it will cost you money and with no appointment.
Some people use this blog to make money. If anyone contact you offering slots, please report their email ID to UKBA. they told me they can track email orgin IP address

I bet whenever you try to book an appointment you will get a message like these. “If you have been unsuccessful in finding an available appointment, please do not call our contact center. They do not have any additional appointments available to them.”.
or
"We can not complete your appointment booking. This is due to a technical problem. Please try later".
I got the same for couple of days and i found a way to get an appointment. on my first attempt (which was before October 1st) i used Google chrome in which you could go back and forward even if the website is down. But you don't get that anymore from 1st of October.(i should say they fixed that bug :) ). if there is will, there a slot. I can't guarantee a slot but it helped a lot of my friends. why not try it?
Its better use Google chrome to use for booking. why? i dunno !I felt its better than Firefox for this purpose.
STEP 1.

Time: 11.55 - 11.58 - Try Any Time, not just mid night or early morning
open chrome and open three tabs. do the following steps on two tabs:

1) Log in to UKBA booking page
2) Which service are you applying for?* Select the form you need [set (O) or m or FLR or whatever] from the drop down menu click next.
3) Are you applying using the premium service?* Select "Yes" for the premium service
4)How many dependents did you include on your application?* Select "1 or 2 or ..." from drop down for dependent and click next.
5) I am available from --leave it blank . Then it will show even if they have date for next day. but if you really need to add a date, you can try with any date.
6)I am available until -- Leave it blank. But if you really need to add a date try the date put a date after 44 days or 45 but not before 43 days. Try this link to Calculate days

7) I am available on the following days of the week : All
8) I am available at the following time: Anytime
9) Select up to three convenient locations* pick three you want and *****DON'T CLICK NEXT******
Do the same on another tab or in another browser (could be better. because they may change it again) before 11.58. Open another tab and just go to UKBA website. this tab is just for the purpose of checking website availability. You don't have to log in . If you log in doesn't make any difference.
NOW wait ... don't do any thing till 12.00. When the clock chimes at 12.00, start refresh UKBA website.Yea , that's the third tab. I am pretty sure you will get a message saying website is temporarily unavailable. for some reason, they always down at 12.00.
Keep refreshing, and refreshing, and refreshing........12.02....keep refreshing.....wait! is that the website loading? If the answer is YES go to first OR second tab you made it ready from STEP 1 AND CLICK NEXT.
you are pressing NEXT button the moment after the website is up . So most probably you are going to see a lot of slots. Click anyone of them you need and CLICK NEXT. if you see next page asking for personal details then you are through..not fully though..

But Relax.....you have time for the next step.
In this page you are going to type main applicant's first name, Surname, Date Of Birth . Type the same if you have any dependent. and WAIT................and refresh the third Tab again to see whether the website is still up. If it is still up, Click next.
What happens if you click next straightway?
A) if you are really lucky will go through and the site will display a message that you have booked your appointment. i suggest this only to people with no dependent visa applicants. NO offence mate, you wont have enough time to type all these and click next and the website process it and get back to you with a slot allocation. But if you do, get a euro million straightaway, you might win it.
B) the website will down and whatever you type will lost. You cant go back with <<Back<< Button since October 1st. [may be you can. but it didn't work for me].
So we typed everything about applicants and waiting .Go to third tab we were checking website connection and refresh to see if there is connection. Wait until there is connection again . The moment you see the site loading, click next on first tab [one that you filled with your details] to book a slot. IF there is no connection. wait and keep refresh....it might take a minute or five but please wait until you get that site up.
If you see the site coming back up , go to first tab and click on next to get the slot. If there is some one already does the same, then one who click first gets the slot.
THEN GO TO second tab and click on next. IF you don't get first tab on time, you probably going to see some slots in second tab and do the process in STEP 2.
NB:
1) you most probably get first tab done. But now you know how many of you going to do the same trick after reading this :). If you don't get any slot , please don't type any swearing words here...
2) Some time you will get a mail confirming your slot. but you cant see it in your account. In that case you better book another one or call UKBA to confirm booking. So once you get your slot, please log in to the website and confirm it is in your account. if you cant find your appointment in your account mail to : applyonlinee-support@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk to confirm your appointment.
3) If you have a friend with second pc/Laptop just to refresh UKBA site, YOu dont have to change tabs all the time and it will help to get a slot faster...Just a sugestion!
4) I am just like you with not much knowledge about immigration but may be with a bit Web programming knowledge. So please don't ask me any immigration doubts. If you have any, please try:

Finally got the appointment I was looking for. This is amazing blog. Well would like to share tip who are not able to book. Don't select 3 choices, just select 1 choice and you will get the slots visible in no time.

Any other people looking for appointments, do exactly as the above and you will get an appointment. It is handy if you have 2 computers/laptops. I used 2 laptops one hand on F5 and another hand ready to click next :-)

ReplyDeleteYou don't need to try SET (O) at the night times. There are loads of appointment for SET (O) for Croydon during day time everyday. But the tips from this blog is exceptionally helpful anyway :)

ReplyDeleteI was online between 11.45pm and 1am - which is when I logged out. The site went down almost every 30-45 seconds during this time, but I persevered with the approach mentioned here with 4 browser sessions open and constantly refreshed the 4th browser session to check whether the site was up. It was painful, but I ultimately booked a SET(O) appointment - Croydon PEO at 12.25am. All the Croydon appointments for Jan 18th 2013 had gone by 12.35am (I saw a complete list ranging from 8.10am - 12pm when the first search result was returned).

DeleteI've seen Croydon PEO appointment slots start at 8am though to around 3.30pm. And there were appointments every 10 minutes, E.g. 8am, 8.10, 8.20, 8.40 etc... I'm not sure whether this is the same at every PEO though.
DeleteDepends on which categories you are talking about. If SET(O), SET(M) there are many appointments available throughout the day. If Tier 1 G, Tier 2 sponsored etc, they are like Euromillion (or even worse).

1. It might be better to log in at 11:50 as that's when the log-in page starts playing up.
2. The UKBA site was running fine the whole time. I clicked on the "my account" on the homepage to check the website availabilty. If you can get to the log-in page, it means the website is running and you can click "next".
Decide in advance which 3 locations you are going to take and also the time slots will help as the slots go real quick!
I was successful (I am the guy who commented at 00:22 just above). A few little tips
ReplyDeleteI logged in at about 11:45pm. The site actually seems to have quite a long idle session time (30 minutes from my experiments earlier in the day). Theoretically you can log in from 11:30pm and leave it sit, though presumably you will be clicking about the site to open other tabs which will keep you session active.
I use a Mac and changed the clock settings so that it displays the seconds too. I started testing the site the moment it hit midnight.
I went a bit overboard and had 6-7 tabs open with my preferred dates and locations all filled in. I had the http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/book-appointment site as my 'site test' for reloading.
You have to reload like a maniac. I used a keyboard shortcut to reload and flick between my various tabs.
The first time I got to the page with the appointment slots. I clicked and got to the page where i filled in the dependents. I filled it in and reloaded the 'test' page to see if the site was still up. Despite doing this, the site still crashed when i clicked 'next'. I guess I was just unlucky that the site went down in between me loading the test page and sending off my dependent details.
I kept reloading the test page and went straight to my next open tab with my appointment preferences filled in and tried again. This time I was successful.
I had my email client open too, and it sent me an email pretty much immediately.
Is there any new Tier 1 General slots in Birmingham? I could find slots in all other PEOs. Did the stop Tier 1 G in Birmingham recently?

ReplyDeleteWhat type of appointment are you looking for? I.e. immigration category? If it is SET(O), then I would try logging into the site in the morning, as I have seen many December appointments appear when doing so during the last week.

Deleteok, so I managed to get a slot in Solihull. I was so excited at being able to see the slots that my fingers were cold and trembling as I entered the code which gave me an error thrice, but I got the confirmation mail anyway. But, its only 24 days ahead of my visa expiry...now what?
DeleteAnother suggestion, given my experience over the past week is to disable antiviruses, add ons and extensions along with another else like Dropbox etc. Better also to plugin a cable rather than use a wifi. Could just be psychological, but I found the website to be a little more accessible.

DeleteAnother wasted day. Wonder how people see appointments in Solihull, I haven't seen any in about a month now and trust me I've been trying all the tricks in the book - all browser types, 12am login, wired internet, multi tab refreshes etc.
ReplyDeleteIt's pretty tough being a tier 1 immigrant these days. Besides the extraordinary efforts in keeping up with your highly skilled job, you're scanning the news every day to make sure madame May hasn't changed the rules while you weren't looking, you put up with bigoted views about how you're trying to steal everyone's else jobs, and to top it all, you have to use a broken system that rarely work to request her majesty to let you extend your stay in the country. God help you if you put in the request through the post, chances are the rules would have changed so much and you would have grown grey hair much more before you get a response back some half-year later.

ReplyDeleteSaw so many appointments today, but by the time I filled up the dependants details the appnt is no longer available. I just took a few seconds. Does the site lock the slot atleast for a few secs? This has happened now over 6 times. Is there any other trick here?

ReplyDeleteJust connected to my wireless network and using chrome. It is very random. I have one for Sheffield booked. If anyone needs I can transfer but not sure how to do it though. Any insights would be much appreciated.

DeleteThanks to the feedback. Seems there is really no method to this madness. INMO though, someone must be profiteering from all this. There's no explanation why slots don't actually show up any more unlike before when you may see the slots but not necessarily being able to book in time.

DeleteI have tried 3 days from 11:50-01:25. first night I saw 3 spooint for 13th Dec, binse last 2 ocassion nothing! The trick suggested in this blog did not work for me (no offence to the writer though, its my luck or lack of it!)
ReplyDeleteHowever, I saw 1 slot at around 11am in the days coule of days ago for 4the Jan. I need 31 Jan onwards hence did not try to go any further.

DeleteThere is a reason for this: I heard from my friend that he booked appointment on 8th Jan and UKBA rescheduled it due to over capacity booking (maybe a technical problem) and changed the dates to 30th Jan and afterwards.
DeleteSolihull, Liverpool, Croydon. I was checking and F5 refreshing like a *?! and I could not see any slots. My broadband speed test registers 17mb. I always wonder when some people see slots and book them when i can even see these slots showing up. Seeing and not being able to book, i can understand but not even seeing these slots at all, and showing up for some other people, hmmn...

ReplyDeleteThere were many appointments for SET(O) in Liverpool, Sheffield, Glasgow, Belfast this morning around 9.30-10am.
DeleteSo if anyone is unable to find an appointment at midnight or around that time, I'd recommend trying later on in the morning as well. I've noticed there are appointments at around 5.30-7am. The site appears to then go down at around 7am. After this, I've only checked at 9.30am, there again have seen appointments. What I've noticed is that all the Croydon appointments go at midnight, then all the Solihul ones go by 7am (Note I've seen several of these when I've logged in between 5.30-7am, they gradually reduce the closer you get to 7am, then the remaining appointments I see at 9.30 am are for Liverpool, Sheffield, Belfast, Glasgow & Cardif).

I am also in a very similar position, i have not seen any slots for this week. I am trying at midnight every day.
DeleteOnly once i was able to see a slot on 20-Dec when i was trying on 17th midnight.
I am really annoyed and at the same time curious to know how other people managed to get any slots.
I doubt there are any slots released on friday midnight but still i tried as i have become addicted.
No, new appointment slots are only released from Sunday to Thursday @ midnight.

When someone email you, what terms are you offering, at least if you are legit, you should be willing to state your terms here.
Deletesamedayuk1 at yahoo.co.uk is a spammer. I've seen the same advertisements being made on immigrationboards.com as well (where soliciting business is against the forum policy). It's only a matter of time now before this user gets banned!
